A helicopter manufacturing company was struggling to keep track of what they call “travelers”, which are file folders that contain important production information. The time spent by the staff searching for misplaced or lost “travelers” was costing upwards of $1,500 a day in labor costs that could have been going to productive time.
The organization researched asset tracking solutions and got in touch with the Enasys team.
Enasys lead the decision makers at the manufacturing company through the process of determining needs, the features of the Enasys software that would be most useful for fulfilling those needs, and what set-up of Enasys would look like and require.
Enasys provided a wide-area real-time asset tracking system that covers every square foot of the facility and uses RFID tags placed on each “traveler.”
Staff at the manufacturing company are now able to know exactly where each “traveler” is, whenever they need to locate one, simply by looking at the Enasys mobile app. The Enasys system and software has since reduced lost time by 90%, and the company saw a return on investment within a year.
A large hardware store had numerous television screens and other electronics placed in hundreds of store fronts. Each year, inventory would be conducted using barcode scanners to evaluate the value of these assets; however, the items were mounted up high and hard to reach with the barcode scanners—even with a ladder. As a result, employees cut corners during the annual inventory process, which left many assets unaccounted for in the final tabulation.
Enasys lead the decision makers at the organization through the process of determining needs, the features of the Enasys software that would be most useful for fulfilling those needs, and what the set-up of Enasys would look like and require.
Enasys provided an RFID tracking solution where RFID tags were placed on the assets to be inventoried each year, RFID scanners could be used to inventory every tagged asset in a 30 foot radius with a single wave of the scanner, and the Enasys software kept track of the inventory information year over year.
The system that was implemented not only reduced the time it took to conduct inventory ten-fold, but it also increased the reliability and accuracy of the inventory numbers. The client found that inventory was historically off by 50% and that the accuracy with the RFID system was close to 100% correct.
In a government warehouse, tools, assets, and other equipment were constantly changing hands and traveling from one site to another. The operation was not able to keep track of where the items and equipment were ending up, and who was responsible for them since they were last seen.
Enasys provided a real time location system by placing antennas at pinch points throughout the facility and RFID tags on all assets that were to be tracked. A check-in check-out system was implemented to track chain of custody and provide alerts to managers when certain events occurred—like when someone without authorization took possession of a restricted asset.
The client reported that the real time location system for asset tracking reduced lost assets by 90%.
